Cecilia Zandalasini showed up on the injury report with an illness, not the same “reconditioning” tag on the other World Cup players, Gabby Williams and Janelle Salaun. Before the game, head coach Natalie Nakase said she was feeling better, but she didn’t end up playing.
With the sellout on Saturday, Golden State officially sold out all of its home games in its first two seasons, the only WNBA team to accomplish that. The win also gave the Valkyries a 17-5 record at home this season.
Tiffany Hayes’ brother proposed to his now-fiancé during a timeout and she said yes! Hayes was HYPED and ran over and hugged the engaged couple and it was really sweet.
