Notebook from Game 3 97-71 loss in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Tiffany Hayes said it was surprising. She had just admitted that the Valkyries had been undisciplined in their loss in Atlanta, a rarity for the Valkyries this season.

“I think this game, they wanted it more than us,” Hayes said. “That’s not who we are, that’s not who we’ve been, and that’s not how we got here.”

Some of their problems were familiar; poor shot quality and efficiency, lack of someone taking over on offense. Others were new, between the turnovers and lack of adjustments from Game 2.

With no answers in Game 3, how can the Valkyries come back in this series?
