DALLAS — Natalie Nakase is tired of talking about four full quarters.
She felt like during the 10-game winning streak, the Valkyries were close to reaching that. In the past four games since the All-Star break, it hasn’t been close.
Friday’s 94-76 win in Dallas was far from perfect in that regard. And while the results are coming and Golden State is tied for second in the WNBA standings, it’s still not enough for Nakase.
“First two possessions, Paige (Bueckers) just walks into threes,” Nakase said. “That was not the game plan. Her having 17 (points) is not the game plan. So, right from the jump, coming out right out, right from the locker room. Like, I mean, that's lack of discipline, attention to detail. Like, absolutely not. But you know, they responded again. But I don't want to respond. I want to punch first.”
