Head coach Natalie Nakase spoke before the game about the online hate WNBA players have received, and while noting that the Valkyries themselves haven’t had many discussions about it, acknowledged it is a problem in the league.

“But I also don’t want to, you know, not acknowledge it,” Nakase said. “So for us at Golden State, we just don’t condone discrimination, violence or hate. Like, we just don’t condone that, and we’re super inclusive here. And I take a lot of pride being a leader in that position in that we’re really, really inclusive. I think you guys could feel that in our environment. You could feel that with our team, and I just kind of want to stay focused on that more.”

Juste Jocyte was ruled out with left foot soreness, which must have happened sometime this weekend since she was never on the injury report during the road trip.
