Notebook from 83-81 Game 2 win vs Las Vegas

  • Tiffany Hayes said the Valkyries like to sometimes raise the blood pressure at Ballhalla. Wednesday was certainly one of those nights as Golden State lost a 17-point lead, hit a late game-winning shot and then got a game-winning block all in the span of about two minutes. But, a win is a win, and the Valkyries are heading to Las Vegas needing just one more to clinch a trip to the WNBA Finals.

  • Natalie Nakase talked more about these past few days since she fainted in Game 3 of the first round series against Dallas. She missed a full day earlier this week while the rest of the staff and players met, saying she mostly slept.

“Just being fully candid, like I've been exhausted, and I'm not afraid to say that I needed a day,” she said before Game 2. “And so my team, my staff, they met on their own without me, and they let me know in terms of the edits and the notes and everything, and I hit them later. But I just need a day. I was so exhausted, so just super grateful to have a staff that like can function on their own, but more importantly enjoy working together without me.”
