The Valkyries lost again Friday, this time on a last-second three-point dagger from Chicago rookie Sydney Taylor.

Golden State had stormed back from a 21-point deficit to take a lead as large as four, only for Taylor to hit a game-tying three-pointer and then the game-winner.

It was the fifth time Golden State has scored fewer than 75 points this season and the first time it has scored 70 or fewer in consecutive games, following Wednesday’s loss to Minnesota.

It was also another slow start, coming after head coach Natalie Nakase called out the team’s early-game effort following the loss to the Lynx.

The starting five struggled again, combining for just six field goals, three from Veronica Burton and three from Cecilia Zandalasini. The bench stepped up, with Laeticia Amihere scoring a season-high 16 points and Kaitlyn Chen hitting what was almost a game-winning three-pointer. But there are seeds of a potential problem.
