Right after announcing the addition of Gabby Williams, the Golden State Valkyries returned two of her French national team teammates.

Golden State signed Janelle Salaun and Iliana Rupert to multi-year deals after extending qualified offers to them both last week.

Both projected starters for next year’s team, Salaun was a rookie last season and was named to the league’s rookie first team while Rupert had her best WNBA showing yet in only half a season.

Salaun averaged 11.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game after arriving from France, while Rupert’s 44.3 % from 3-point range from the center position led to a career-high 9.3 points per game.

The Valkyries made a flurry of moves on Sunday, also activating the rookie contract of last year’s first-round pick. Juste Jocyte, while signing guard Miela Sowah and center Mariella Fasoula.

Fasoula is a 28-year-old former Boston College and Vanderbilt center from Greece who played with Besiktas in EuroCup this winter. Sowah, a 25-year-old guard, is from Australia and has played in the WNBL since graduating from Duke in 2022.
