Just because Valkyries season is over, it doesn’t mean the players are done. Some will begin playing again shortly while others heading to Unrivaled will be off for a few months.

Each week during the offseason, Valkyries Beat will check in with what the players are up to abroad and across the country. Here is a guide of how to watch them all over the next few months.

After becoming the first player to win titles in the WNBA and Unrivaled in the same year, Burton returns to the Mist for her second season.

Last year she led the league with 29 steals while averaging 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists, which led the Mist.

This will be Williams’ first season in Unrivaled after she has spent the past nine offseasons playing in Europe, including with Fenerbahçe in Turkey last year before she joined the Valkyries.

Williams’ will play alongside Marine Johannes with the Laces. This is her first 3×3 season experience.

Hayes has played in the past two seasons of Unrivaled and been an impact player. She comes back to the Phantom, where she averaged 11.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 2026. Before the Phantom, she played one season with the Laces where she scored 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists.

After spending all of last winter rehabbing from her knee injury, Thornton will play for Rose BC with Unrivaled this year.

Before signing with Unrivaled, Thornton had always played overseas in the offseason. Most recently she played for Çukurova Basketbol in Turkey in 2024, which is where she was when she got the call that she was selected by the Valkyries in the expansion draft.

Zandalasini is back with the Italian club where she has spent most of her career after she signed a deal ahead of last season. She netted 8.6 points per game and shot 40.4% from the field last season as one of Schio’s primary attackers.

She helped Schio win a championship last season, too, beating Kaila Charles’ team right before Valkyries training camp.

She will join Maria Conde (Toronto), who had been selected by the Valkyries in the expansion draft in 2024 before she missed all of last season with injury.

Zandalasini was the most important scorer for Italy in the World Cup and has always been more of a ball handler in international play.

Charles averaged 11.9 points per game with 6.6 rebounds last winter, her first season in Europe. This season, she will return to Venezia. Other notable names on that team include former North Carolina player Alyssa Ustby and former Atlanta Dream forward Lorela Cubaj.

Charles was also named to Unrivaled’s player pool, so she might get a chance to play in the 3×3 league in January.

Ashten Prechtel - Eneos Sunflowers (Japan)
November - March

Prechtel is with the Eneos Sunflowers, which caused her to miss Wednesday’s Valkyries’ parade. She is the only American on the roster.

Chen made huge strides from playing in Europe last season before working with the now-defunct Athletes Unlimited, but now she will have a chance to improve her game in the 3×3 format of Unrivaled.

“Obviously, there are so many really talented players there,” Chen said of joining Unrivaled. “So just being able to play against some of the best and get better.”

She will be reunited with her former UConn teammate Paige Bueckers and former Valkyries forward Monique Billings with the Breeze.

Kiah Stokes: Off

Stokes hasn’t played in an offseason league since she played with Fenerbahçe in 2024. Given what she said about her body hurting during exit interviews, the Valkyries are probably happy to see her get some time off.

Juste Jocyte: Project B
January - April

Jocyte was one of the first players to sign with the upstart Project B league, a league that will barnstorm across Europe and Asia. The league will start in January 2027 in China, but there are few other details, including teams and rosters.

The 20-year-old said she plans on working on her physicality in the offseason.

“I've been in the weight room a lot this season, so that's that's something that hopefully translates to my game and well, just getting better overall,” Jocyte said. “I feel like with the physicality, a lot of things can facilitate my game defensively and offensively. So just keep working on that, and and hopefully, like by next season, I can apply that.”

Laeticia Amihere: Project B
January - April

Amihere will also join the new league. Last winter she played with Uni Girona CB in Spain. She is a restricted free agent, but sounded like she would like to come back to the Valkyries.

“After feeling this, I want to keep chasing this feeling,” Amihere said. “So whatever I have to do to keep putting myself in the best position, obviously, gonna work hard in the off season and you know get stronger, get better, get a lot more confidence in my game, just so I can be able to come in next year and chase this feeling again.”

Gueye will play for USK Praha in Czechia, where Chen and Janelle Salaun played last offseason.

Gueye, who will technically be a free agent after her hardship deal, though the Valkyries own her rights, will spend the winter alongside Pauline Astier (New York), Frieda Buhner (Portland), Cassandre Prosper (Washington) and former Valkyries training camp player Migna Toure.

She played in Spain with Casademont Zaragoza last season where she averaged 10.3 points per game with 6.1 rebounds.

Sowah went to the championship series in the WNBL last year with Townsville and will return as one of their essential scorers. She averaged 17.8 points per game with 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field in 25 games.

How to watch: ESPN-Plus on Disney+

After playing for Praha last season, Salaun announced midway through the summer that she would join powerhouse Galatasaray in Turkey. She joins a roster that includes Dorka Juhasz (Minnesota), Olivia Nelson-Odoa (Houston), Awak Kuier (Dallas) and Marine Fauthoux (New York).
