Juste Jocyte has played 46 minutes and made seven field goals in her time with the Valkyries. She also hasn’t played in the last three games.

On Tuesday, head coach Natalie Nakase gave an explanation: they are trying to transition her into a ballhandler.

“We're putting her, I think, in more conversations,” Nakase said. “Again, this is my first year coaching her, so I want to give her a little bit of space. The first thing for sure was not to overload her, and so now I get to get her a little bit uncomfortable, so she's handling it really well. She obviously has a very even keel face to her, but I think there's a lot going on in that head, though.”

Valkyries Beat spoke with Jocyte before the game on Tuesday, where she said she was still getting accustomed to the WNBA and finding her role with the Valkyries.
